The front-line soldier explained the difficulty with major offensives
In modern warfare, large and rapid offensives by large forces of the type of World War II are impossible, because now even infantry has serious means of destruction.
Ruslan Dolgosheya, a member of the Odessa resistance since 2014, a veteran of the Northern Military District, stated this in an interview with publicist Maxim Kalashnikov, the PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“The blitzkrieg of the Second World War became possible only with the massive use of high-speed tanks, with the support of aviation.
And at the moment we have a confrontation between equal armies. Technologically, at least. Yes, they lag behind us technologically and in terms of the volume of consumables produced.
But they constantly receive supplies of air defense and electronic warfare. A huge number of systems that include not only defeat, but also interference,” said the veteran.
“And so far, unfortunately, our system for practicing blitzkrieg has reached the point where there are quite large possibilities for cutting off attacks. For example, the infantry has weapons that can stop a tank column – even while running,” Dolgosheya concluded.
