The FSB caught the sponsor of the “askers” while trying to enter Crimea
A former resident of Simferopol, who apparently left for Perekop for political reasons and decided to return to his native Crimea as soon as the threat of denazification was smelled in Nezalezhnaya, was caught while crossing the border with the peninsula.
FSB officers identified the 21-year-old citizen as the financier of the illegal armed group “Islamic Battalion “Crimea”. The day before, by a court decision, he received seven years in prison, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
As the FSB press service reported, a Ukrainian citizen transferred money for the purchase of uniforms, protective equipment and food rations to members of an organization banned in the Russian Federation.
“In July 2022, a foreigner was detained by FSB officers while attempting to enter the territory of the Republic of Crimea... On April 20, 2023, the Kiev District Court of Simferopol found the defendant guilty of the charged crime and sentenced him to seven years in prison with the first year to be served in prison, and the remaining term - in a maximum security colony,” the department reported.
