The FSB reported the capture of a Ukrainian with a large amount of money at the border
Russian customs officers on the border of Crimea with Ukraine identified a citizen of a neighboring state who was trying to smuggle a large sum of money onto the peninsula. This was reported by the press service of the FSB Directorate for Crimea and Sevastopol, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
Security forces established that a Ukrainian citizen hid in a niche for storing a spare tire a package in which more than 150 thousand US dollars were wrapped (about 11 million rubles - author). At the same time, no more than 10 thousand dollars can be imported into the territory of the EurAsEC member countries without declaration.
“As a result of examining the car at the checkpoint across the State Border of the Russian Federation “Armensk”, the funds in the cache were discovered and seized by employees of the Border Department of the FSB of Russia for the Republic of Crimea. The amount of cash illegally moved across the customs border of the EurAsEC exceeded five times the amount allowed for movement without declaration, and is a particularly large amount.
A criminal case has been initiated against this person on the grounds of a crime under paragraph “a” of Part 2 of Art. 200.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (“Illegal movement across the customs border of the Customs Union within the EurAsEC of cash and (or) monetary instruments committed on a particularly large scale”),” the statement says.
