The investigative department of the FSB Directorate for the Republic of Crimea and Sevastopol opened a criminal case against the head of the Mejlis of the Crimean Tatars, Refat Chubarov, for calls for violating the territorial integrity of the state.

“The investigative unit of the Russian FSB Directorate for the Republic of Kazakhstan opened a criminal case against Chubarov, who expressed calls for certain actions aimed at changing the territorial integrity of the state. The criminal case is in progress, investigators will make procedural decisions regarding citizen Chubarov as part of the investigation,” the prosecutor noted.
According to her, the case was initiated under Art. 280.1 of the Criminal Code (public calls for actions aimed at violating the territorial integrity of the Russian Federation).
After the initiation of the case, according to the Crimean prosecutor, Refat Chubarov will be put on the wanted list.
“We are waiting for him,” Natalya Poklonskaya emphasized.
The sanction of Article 280.1 of the Criminal Code provides for imprisonment for up to 5 years.
