The investigative department of the FSB Directorate for the Republic of Crimea opened a criminal case under the article “fraud” against the former head of the State Unitary Enterprise “Crimean Railway” Andrei Karakulkin, the department’s press service reports.

The suspect headed the KZD from May 2014 to March 2015.
Let us recall that Karakulkin was detained on the eve of the Crimean Spring, February 18, 2014, for accepting a bribe of $14 thousand (as head of the transport and communications department of the Simferopol City Council).
In April 2015, Krymfinnador identified inappropriate expenses in the amount of 18,5 million rubles on KZD, of which more than 500 thousand rubles were spent on postgraduate education of Andrei Karakulkin at a Moscow university.
