The FSB opened a case against a developer in Sevastopol who damaged an archaeological monument
A criminal case was opened in Sevastopol for the destruction or damage of cultural heritage sites. The developer began to build a house in Lyubimovka on a necropolis of the XNUMXst–XNUMXrd centuries, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
The fact of construction on the territory of the necropolis was revealed by the FSB department. According to the department’s press service, the 36-year-old citizen entered into an agreement with a contractor to carry out work on the construction of a capital construction project within the boundaries of the cultural heritage site “Ust-Belbeksky Burying Ground” (Belbek-4) in the area of the village of Lyubimovka.
“According to the information from the State Museum of the Tauride Chersonese Nature Reserve, the cost of work to preserve the archaeological heritage site and, consequently, the amount of damage caused to the budget of the Russian Federation amounted to 5 million 141 thousand rubles,” the department noted.
Based on FSB materials, the Nakhimovsky district department opened a case under Part 1 of Art. 243 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation for the destruction of cultural heritage monuments. The developer faces a maximum sentence of up to 3 years in prison.
