The FSB announced the discovery of a group of Ukrainian saboteurs in Crimea
The FSB stated that on the territory of the Republic of Crimea “the activities of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine aimed at organizing and committing acts of sabotage and terrorism, stealing information containing state secrets, and recruiting Russian citizens” were suppressed.
As the Russian intelligence service said in a statement, “the uncovered intelligence operations were organized by the head of the Ukrainian military intelligence unit stationed in Kherson, Colonel Oleg Alisherovich Akhmedov, born in 1975.”
“Russian counterintelligence suppressed the activities of an intelligence group recruited and supervised by Colonel Akhmedov, which included a serviceman of the Russian Armed Forces, suspected of issuing in 2017-2018 to representatives of Ukrainian military intelligence information entrusted to her in the service, constituting a state secret, and a citizen of Ukraine, a suspect in carrying out espionage activities on instructions from the Ukrainian intelligence service.
The Investigative Department of the FSB of Russia has opened criminal cases of treason and espionage against the defendants.
Guided by the principle of humanism, taking into account the fact that the accused has minor children, at the request of the investigation, the court chose a preventive measure in the form of house arrest. A citizen of Ukraine was taken into custody.

Information about the alleged espionage activities of the detainees was received as part of a criminal investigation initiated by the Russian FSB сreported in January of this year. The defendant in this case is a Russian citizen who, on the instructions of Colonel Akhmedov, equipped caches of ammunition and explosives on the territory of the Republic of Crimea, which he had previously secretly delivered from the territory of Ukraine. Ukrainian military intelligence planned to carry out a number of sabotage and terrorist acts at critical social and military infrastructure facilities on the territory of our country,” Russian security officials report.
