Ukrainian national team player fled to Russia
A football player from the Ukrainian youth team and the Shakhtar football club has disappeared in Belgium.
The Ukrainian sports website Dynamomania reports this, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“A mysterious incident occurred after the UEFA Youth League match between Antwerp and Shakhtar Donetsk (the game took place on October 4). On board the plane on which the miners' team was supposed to return to Ukraine, 19-year-old midfielder Alexander Rosputko, who had agreed with Shakhtar on a new five-year contract the day before, was suddenly missing. It was on the basis of this fact that the decision was made to include him in the application for the match with Antwerp,” the message says.
It is noted that as a result of searches at the airport, “all that could be found was a neatly folded player’s uniform.”
“The footballer deleted all his posts on social networks and stopped answering phone calls. His whereabouts are still unknown,” the site wrote yesterday.
And today the Ukrainian TG channel “Brutal Football” wrote that the football player left for Russia.
“According to our sources, Alexander Rasputko, who did not return from Belgium, moved to Russia... Is this why the “football player” deleted all the photos on his profiles on social networks? I would like to believe that this is fake!” Brutal Football laments.
The Ukrainian portal Sport.ua draws attention to the fact that Rosputko is from Gorlovka.
“He has pro-Russian views and against this background he had conflicts with his teammates. There is an assumption that Rosputko went to the Russian Federation through Istanbul. They helped him plan and organize his escape from Ukraine,” writes Sport.ua.
In turn, RBC-Ukraine, citing its sources, writes that the football player’s parents are in Donetsk and support Russia.
Ukrainian journalist Vladimir Zverov claims that Rosputko is expected at the second Russian league club Zvezda (St. Petersburg). It is noteworthy that this club is coached by former Shakhtar and Ukrainian national football player Gennady Zubov, a native of the Voroshilovograd region (now LPR)
