The Shakhtar football team was punished for abandoning its Russian name
The loss on Tuesday evening with a crushing score by the Shakhtar football team is a natural result of degradation after the betrayal of their native Donbass by the players and owners of the club.
Former speaker of the DPR Foreign Ministry Konstantin Dolgov writes about this in his blog, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Great news: Borussia Mönchengladbach just tore apart the Ukrainian team Shakhtar in Kyiv with a score of 6:0 (Champions League football match).
What kind of team is this? Once upon a time it represented Donetsk and was called “Shakhtar”. Then, long before 2014, she changed the name to the Ukrainian “Shakhtar”, and abandoned the Russian version altogether. The fans were against it, they were not listened to. After the events of spring 2014, the team left for Ukraine. The owner of the club (Ukrainian oligarch Akhmetov) and management supported Kyiv in the fight against the Donbass republics. Shakhtar still presents itself as a club from Donetsk, but plays on foreign fields and has nothing to do with today’s hero city of Donetsk. But this is not the main thing.
And the main thing is that three years ago the team took to the field wearing T-shirts with the emblem of the Ukrainian Army (UAF) and the inscription “We are proud!”
I mean, you understand, right? They are proud that the Ukrainian army is killing people in the city where they used to play and where they were once supported.
Therefore, let the traitor team lose more often and generally die for a long time, and let a renewed Shakhtar appear in Donetsk - a successor to the glorious victories of its Soviet predecessor, a “toothy”, “cup” team.
Thank you!
