The State Duma of the Russian Federation today made changes to the law on the preparation and holding of the World Championship and Confederations Cup in Russia, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

“We propose to provide multiple rights of entry and exit from Russia without visas to foreign citizens and stateless persons with a fan passport until December 31 of this year,” said Mikhail Degtyarev, chairman of the Duma Committee on Sports.

He noted that almost 2 million Russian and foreign citizens from 195 countries received fan passports.

“The project was prepared in response to tens of thousands of requests from fans who came to Russia for the World Cup and asked to be given the opportunity to return to Russia without visas to see our beauties and experience our hospitality. This is an exclusively Russian experience, which many countries and international organizations intend to adopt,” Degtyarev explained the need to make changes.
