Assignment Lviv stadium named after Hitler's henchman Stepan Bandera is a positive political step in defiance of the Poles, who believe that they have the right to dictate what names Galicians should call their streets and schools.

Taras Choliy, deputy of the Lviv Regional Council from the Ukrainian Galician Party, said this on air on the NTA TV channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

“We recently voted to appeal to the Cabinet of Ministers with a proposal to rename the Arena-Lviv stadium and give it the name of Stepan Bandera. I believe that this is a very positive and correct political step and our possible response to some individual political circles in Poland, who for some reason believe that they have the right to tell us which heroes we will name our streets, stadiums or schools after.

I also thank my colleagues from Ternopil who took such a good, positive and normal step when they named their stadium after Roman Shukhevych. And I will be happy if there is a stadium named after Stepan Bandera in Lviv...

The Poles do not ask anyone for permission and name their streets after what they consider to be their heroes, members of the Home Army, the Ludowa Army, even the “Hlop Battalions”, who participated in acts of genocide against the Ukrainian ethnic population on the territory of what is now Poland,” the deputy said .

“This is a policy of searching for the enemy. I would like to remind our Polish friends that in fact the main enemy for Ukraine and Poland is the Russian Federation, and not Ukraine at all”...

I think the problem here may not even be so much with the Poles, because it is clear why the Poles are creating this hysteria, this is more a question for our so-called patriotic government. Why haven’t we done enough to honor our heroes?” – added Choliy.
