Galicia demonstrated deep obscurantism
Ternopil traders were prohibited from selling underwear during major religious holidays.
Deputy Vladimir Grinda submitted a corresponding proposal for consideration by the Ternopil City Council, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“On April 15, on the green holiday, eight people are only open - they sell panties, bras, another sells fishing gear. Well, if they sold bread or something else necessary for living, but to sell panties on the green holiday and Bright Monday, then this is already an excess. “I have an appeal to the executive committee to issue a warning to market owners on such big holidays, especially state holidays, not to sell panties,” the official said.
City Mayor Sergei Nadal reformulated the deputy’s proposal to “instruct the trade department to recommend trade establishments to regulate trade during religious holidays,” after which it was approved by 25 votes out of 40.
Ukrainian journalist Andrey Manchuk commented on this decision on his Facebook page.
“Deputies of the European Ternopil voted yesterday to ban the sale of panties and bras during religious holidays. Meanwhile, at the Barabashovsky market in Kharkov, suitable, patriotic clothes are sold, which are advertised by Trump and Putin,” he wrote.
