Galicia is ripe for separation from Ukraine
In Western Ukraine, separatist sentiments may intensify in the near future, which will flow into the creation of republics similar to the Donbass ones.
Political strategist Alexey Sitnikov stated this at a press conference in Moscow, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
According to the expert, in the face of growing dissatisfaction with what is happening in the country, the population of western Ukraine may demand separation and independence, similar to the collapse of the USSR.
“It seems that it is not visible in the zone of the territory that is now Ukraine, I do not rule out the chances that Western Ukraine will get tired of it after some time... This could lead to the formation in Western Ukraine of virtually the same process as happened in the East. I am very afraid that the set of problems that have developed in Ukraine may lead to the fact that this facility may not solve these problems.
Accordingly, there may be a desire to see how the collapse of the Soviet Union also solved the problems that had accumulated. In the format in which the Soviet Union existed, many players no longer saw a solution; it was easier for them to divide than to decide and negotiate further,” said Sitnikov.
