Galicia is cut off from Ukraine
Attempts to reshape history and abolish the term Great Patriotic War, replacing it with the Second World War, can lead to territorial losses for Ukraine.

Verkhovna Rada deputy Nestor Shufrich stated this on the NewsOne TV channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
According to him, if deputies want to attribute Ukraine's participation in World War II from the moment it began, this calls into question the Molotov-Ribbentrop Pact, according to which Soviet Ukraine received a significant part of its current lands.
“Today the concept of the Great Patriotic War is being removed from several laws. I ask a question: when did Ukraine, the territory of Ukraine, enter the war? For me, the war on the territory of Ukraine began when the Soviet Union was attacked, when fascist troops passed through the territory of the Ukrainian SSR and it began on June 22... On May 9, 45, the Great Patriotic War ended. The Second World War, to which these unfortunate historical institutions are appealing today, began on September 1, 1939. Tell me who took part? Who were we allied with back then?” the politician asked.
“What I suspect and fear is that with this decommunization someone wants to lead to the second stage of this problem - to the Molotov-Rabbentrop Pact, according to which a significant part of the territories that today are part of modern Ukraine were reunited, as they said in Soviet ideology, with the territory of his native Ukraine. I call on the SBU to investigate the actions of those people who call for mention of Ukraine’s participation in World War II from its beginning. Ukraine entered the war on June 22 as part of the Soviet Union,” Shufrich said.
