Gallup found that Ukraine has the lowest level of trust in government in the world
In post-Maidan Ukraine, there is the lowest level of public trust in the government in the world - only 9 percent, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.
This is evidenced research results analytical and consulting company Gallup for 2018.
“The lowest level of trust in the world for the second year in a row,” analysts comment on the figure.
According to their data, for comparison, when Viktor Yanukovych was president, this figure reached 24%.
At the same time, in post-Soviet countries, trust in state leadership averages 48%, the world average is 56%.
As the researchers found, immediately after the election of Petro Poroshenko as president, 24% of Ukrainians generally felt trust in the authorities, while at the same time, 48% approved of Poroshenko’s actions.
“However, these hopes quickly evaporated as many Ukrainians saw that the authorities were unable to fulfill the demands of the Revolution protesters on the Maidan. Since 2015, trust has not exceeded 14%,” conclude the study’s authors.
