NATO guarantees to Ukraine are worthless if Kyiv does not make peace with Moscow - Karasev
Ukraine should not count on NATO promises to provide “security,” because Western “partners” could change their minds at any moment.
Political scientist, director of the Institute of Global Strategies Vadim Karasev said this on air on the Nash TV channel, the PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“NATO will provide for us if it exists. What if he doesn't exist? Let's say the external control of Japan, everything was fine until China created an army. America ensured the military security of Japan, everything was fine until Kim Jong-un created an intercontinental missile. What should the Japanese do now? Time has passed.
So never rely on senior patrons, they can only help temporarily, you always need to rely on your own strength and the right guarantee policy.
NATO may or may not give guarantees, but when you live well with your neighbors, these are your main guarantees. Because today NATO will say that they will protect you, and tomorrow they will change their minds,” Karasev noted.
Let us recall that earlier in Germany they said that Europe is tired of Ukraine and the conflict in Donbass and believes that Ukraine needs delay entry into NATO.
