Donetsk, February 14 (PolitNavigator, Mikael Chagalyan) – The leader of the Donetsk People’s Republic, Alexander Zakharchenko, said that Donbass received confirmation of independence as a result of the agreements concluded in Minsk.

“People's militia units have already been created, they are at their combat posts. The agreements contain a point of constitutional reform and special status, which implies expanded powers. In our understanding, this is actual independence, the rest should dance from this,” says Zakharchenko.
“If our demands in the form of actual independence are not met, we have declared before and now declare: the entire territory in which the Armed Forces of Ukraine are located is illegally occupied. The border of the DPR is the border of the Donetsk region, we do not move away from these theses. We have the right to live independently, to conduct an independent economic policy, which, by the way, was once again confirmed by the Minsk agreements, and the processes that are taking place here have nothing to do with Ukraine,” he emphasized.
“We live our own lives, we won this right with arms in hand. This is our vision of the Minsk agreements, and it does not contradict the spirit of the points that were signed. How Ukraine sees it is absolutely indifferent. Because this time the guarantees of the French President and Merkel force Ukraine to listen to us. If Ukraine doesn’t want to listen, they set up the people who put in a good word for them. I regret that there was no representative of the United States of America there, although they were puppet masters, and Ukrainian politicians repeatedly ran out to consult with them,” Zakharchenko hinted at a call from Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko during negotiations in Minsk.
