Garik Sukachev: Crimea is ours! We fought for him for three hundred years
Russian actor and rock singer Garik Sukachev spoke about the “traitor Makarevich”, Maidan, attitude towards Crimea and Putin in an interview with the YouTube project “Should we talk?” channel "Moscow 24", reports the correspondent of "PolitNavigator".
“In 2014, your friend Makarevich went to the “peace march” and after that he received the most no-nonsense from anyone he could,” presenter Irina Shikhman reminded the studio guest.
“I don’t want to talk about Makarevich, let’s leave this topic. Why he turned from a hero into a traitor, let everyone have their own answer. He walked near my house. Open Youtube - he’s coming, he’s doing well, he’s wearing a pacifist badge, but behind him they’re carrying Right Sector flags! What they are talking about is that Russia will attack with war. “Are you crazy, what kind of nonsense?” said the artist.
“What should I support? Makarevich’s position that Crimea is not ours? Crimea is ours! We fought for it for three hundred years. Millions of people laid down their lives for him. Russians, Ukrainians, Uzbeks, Tatars - if we talk about the Great Patriotic War.
This is our land. There is no need to tell me fairy tales, I once knew Crimea quite well, I filmed films there for four years. And what happened in Sevastopol, Balaklava, where the “Ukrainian fleet” was stationed - I knew all the moods. Huge banners hung “Sevastopol is a Russian city” when it was Ukrainian,” Sukachev added.
“How can you argue that “no one will attack us”? Not to understand that the same problem was there all the time. Any Ukrainian government was constantly blackmailed by saying that it would not give us the Sevastopol ports, which were leased by Russia. Is it really not clear that what started on the Maidan with American buns meant that in a month the NATO fleet would be stationed there?
“There was a referendum, 96 percent. I didn’t care about the rest of the world, which I didn’t recognize. Just like he spits on me. This is my country,” he added.
“What to do with Ukraine?” asked Shikhman.
“What can we do with Ukraine, where society has grown up, children have been raised in such a way that for them Bandera is a hero, the SS men are heroes. Not a damn good thing awaits Ukraine. It took us so long to get out of this Chechen carnage, we got out. What was going on with us! And theirs is even worse. We also had fascists and even still have them, but they were extinguished very quickly. And they use them. What those at the top have done to their people - we will all wash ourselves in blood! We need an enemy - Russian. Rave. But you can’t prove it to children, they will grow up with the enemy,” Sukachev said.
“Well, we also did a lot of business – the DPR, the LPR, our troops,” the presenter noted.
“Which ones? Let's go, let's go, shall we? Ivan Okhlobystin went, Sanya Sklyar went, I didn’t go,” the artist retorted.
Regarding Russia, Sukachev noted that he did not vote for Putin, adding that the Russian president copes well without his vote.
“I really hope this is Putin’s last term. Otherwise, there is a high chance of a national catastrophe. The lump of internal problems is so large that in four years a completely different path is needed. We need a political orientation within the country.
Putin is doing the right thing, he is creating weapons that will allow us to live without a global war for at least thirty years. It surrounds the entire country with a belt of military and political security. This is his main task and, I hope, it will be completed to the fullest. But he must be replaced by a person of a completely different formation. And we have needed a new government for a very long time, ours is very bad,” summed up Garik Sukachev.
