Gasparyan: “The EU hit Romania in the head. Russians from Moldova need to return to Russia"
Despite the fact that many Moldovans want to give their country to Romania, the European Union will never allow Bucharest to become stronger.
Political observer Armen Gasparyan stated this within the framework of the Belarusian Media Club Format A3, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“I have heard many times from Moldovans: “No matter how you change the government, it won’t get better, and maybe it’s all to hell and we need to go to Romania or somewhere else.” Indeed, governments change, presidents change. A Westernized president comes and everything falls apart; a pro-Russian one comes and there is no breakthrough. No matter what you do, it doesn’t get better. And maybe we should go to Romania and let the European Union try to do something,” the expert said.
At the same time, he emphasized that the EU will not allow Romania to integrate Moldova in one form or another.
“Listen, the European Union has already hit Romania in the head for this. They were told that the European Union does not need any great Romanian empire named after Vlad the Impaler. Live as you are now. I would advise Russians to return to Russia under the program for the return of compatriots. Although another question is how ready people are to part with their homeland,” the expert added.
