Gasparyan: The United States is behind the night pogrom in the Serbian capital
Night pogroms in Belgrade were inspired by the United States to demonstrate that the results of the recent parliamentary elections, in which pro-government parties won convincingly, are “wrong.”
Political scientist Armen Gasparyan told PolitNavigator about this.
“Most likely, the people who organized this had some contacts with the United States. But not directly with the State Department, but with some think tanks, NGOs. This is, apparently, a response to the parliamentary elections, the results of which were not what Washington wanted. Such things in modern politics do not remain without consequences, which is why we saw such a clear manifestation,” Gasparyan said.
He recalled that the United States operates according to a similar scheme throughout the world.
“If the elections are “wrong,” then there must be some kind of unrest - a movement that will then be shown on various “correct” TV channels. What, in fact, happened: American channels paid attention to this, speaking very complementarily about the opposition,” Gasparyan said.
At the same time, he believes that the protests will not develop into a full-fledged Maidan.
“Maidan as such is unlikely to happen there. But they will try to develop and expand this story. They were hardly interested in a one-time story,” Gasparyan said.
