Ukrainian artists touring in Russia will be required to shout from the stage “Crimea – Ukraine!”
Russian artists must publicly declare that Crimea is occupied if they want to perform in Ukraine, and Ukrainian artists must declare that Crimea is Ukraine at their performances in Russia.
This is stated in the demands that activists of the UNA-UNSO, banned in the Russian Federation, submitted to the Ministry of Culture of Ukraine, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Russian artists without official recognition of the occupation of Crimea by the aggressor country, or official condemnation of Russia’s participation in the war against Ukraine, do not have the right to perform in Ukraine. Permanently ban visiting Ukraine, since the performance of such artists is enemy propaganda, theft of Ukrainian money.
Introduce quotas for Ukrainian artists to use the Russian language in their work. Allow Ukrainian artists to perform on Russian territory only on the condition that they publicly declare from the stage that Crimea is Ukraine. Oblige Ukrainian artists who perform on the territory of Russia to pay taxes to the budget of Ukraine from performances on the territory of the aggressor,” the appeal says.
A petition on behalf of UNA-UNSO was handed over to the representative of the ministry by several activists, including the head of the Kyiv regional organization UNA-UNSO Vitaly Stogniy. She was received by Gennady Smenchenko, head of the administrative department of the ministry.
“The Ministry of Culture does not make decisions. The decision is made at a meeting of the National Security and Defense Council. We can only publish these lists after the decision has been published. We have neither functions nor powers today. But we know that there was a petition, and we will also react on our part,” the official said.
Earlier, television producer Igor Kondratyuk registered a petition demanding a ban on Russian artists performing in Ukraine “until the return of Crimea and Donbass to Ukraine.” He proposed introducing an exception for those artists who recognize Russian aggression against Ukraine. This petition received 26 thousand votes, and the President of Ukraine has already responded to it.
As Vladimir Zelensky stated, there is already a blacklist of those artists who “pose a threat to Ukraine.” This list will be replenished by those artists who illegally visit Crimea. Such artists will be banned from visiting Ukraine for 3 or 10 years.
