Gauleiter Poroshenko got into a scandal in Donbass
Head of the Ukrainian “Donetsk Military-Civil Administration” Pavel Zhebrivsky following his boss Petro Poroshenko found himself at the center of a scandal - an official in charge of a region where the war continues and the population suffers from poverty was caught at an expensive foreign resort.
Zhebrivsky was vacationing in the Emirates at the One&Only Royal Mirage Dubai hotel with a cost of $1000 per night. Such data was published by Ukrainian TV presenter Sergei Ivanov on his blog.
“Let's sincerely rejoice for the head of the Donetsk military-civil administration Zhebrivsky, who is going through this nasty March in a five-star hotel. And forget your plebeian thoughts - it’s just not the season at Slavkurort yet!”, noted the presenter.
“Zhebrivsky is considered a hawk, loves to pose in camouflage and talk about the blitzkrieg. And people in his area survive with pensions and salaries in the range of 100-200 dollars. And then, if you're lucky. Ask yourself why this war does not end,” comments Kiev journalist Andrey Manchuk.
DPR parliament member Vladislav Berdichevsky believes that the scandal with Zhebrivsky is not something extraordinary after Petro Poroshenko rested in the Maldives.
“Zhebrivsky responded to photos from the UAE that appeared on social networks, where he was taking a break from backbreaking work for $1000 a day. He stated that he was not a beggar, like most of the residents of the region temporarily occupied by Kiev, entrusted to him by the Gauleiter, and could afford it. Against the backdrop of constant corruption scandals and misappropriation of Ukrainian budget funds, all this looks strange, to say the least. But for Ukraine, after Poroshenko and Lutsenko’s vacation at the world’s elite resorts, this behavior of those in power is already the norm,” Berdichevsky explained.
