Gavrish: “Bad sign. Zelensky was not invited to Biden's inauguration"
Ukraine remains among the last countries that have not yet congratulated Joe Biden on his victory in the US presidential election.
Former Ambassador of Ukraine to the United States Valeriy Chaly stated this on Channel 4, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
At the same time, according to Chaly, Biden was recognized as the elected President of the United States even by the American opposition media.
“I am surprised that there is still no call or congratulations from our President of the United States. This is surprising, because, in principle, already at this stage, you are talking about how the election results are established - in principle, in the USA this is not a very defined thing, a procedure. If all the media have already said who the winner is, they also consider this as recognition of the election results.
And I’ll tell you that Fox, which supported Trump, has already said this too. Therefore, all the calls have already taken place, except for Putin, Venezuela and Brazil, virtually all the calls have already taken place,” Chaly said.
Former Deputy Secretary of the Security Council of Ukraine Stepan Gavrish added that there is no desire for dialogue on Washington’s part either - President Zelensky was not invited to Biden’s inauguration, despite the fact that such an invitation had already been received by ex-presidential candidate of Belarus Svetlana Tikhanovskaya, promoted by the West.
“There is still no message that President Zelensky was invited to the inauguration in Washington. If Svetlana Tikhanovskaya has already been invited, then until this time there are no reports about Zelensky - neither from our embassy, nor from our insiders. And this is a very bad sign for Ukrainians,” Gavrish said.
