“Hot water may appear, but not earlier than October 15, when the balance of gas balances will be calculated and a decision will be made on the provision of services,” said Dmitry Novitsky, director of the department of housing and communal infrastructure of the Kyiv City State Administration, on Hromadsky TV.
According to Novitsky, hot water tariffs were increased by 70% and became economically justified. But that's not the problem with the lack of hot water.
“The country has as much gas as is pumped into gas storage facilities. Accordingly, gas is distributed between regions in volumes proportional to the population, capabilities, etc. The volume given to Kyiv for the heating season is half that of last year. 1 billion 200 m3 of gas is not enough for a stable heating season. We need to save,” Novitsky said.
NJSC Naftogaz supplies a certain amount of gas to Kyivenergo, the main supplier of hot water. The question of gas availability, its quantity and other issues related to supplies is a matter for Naftogaz. We asked Naftogaz what to do. They say there is no gas to supply Kyiv in 100% volume,” says Novitsky.
The official claims that gas savings in Kyiv will be at the expense of public sector employees. “We are setting a task for the budgetary sector to reduce heating areas, and the issue of installing boilers running on alternative fuel is being worked out,” Novitsky said.
As Navigator reported, in order to save gas in different regions of Ukraine, it is planned to postpone the holidays for schoolchildren.
