There is no gas. Ukraine jumped
Ukrainian authorities failed a campaign to pump gas into underground gas storage facilities on the eve of the heating season and risk leaving the population in cold apartments. Kiev energy market expert Yuriy Korolchuk writes about this in his blog.

According to him, any emergency situation in the Slovak direction (from where Ukraine receives reverse gas) or prolonged cold weather will lead to freezing of Ukrainians.
“The gas injection campaign for the heating season has almost been disrupted. Ukraine is entering the heating season with frankly insufficient gas volumes in its underground gas storage facilities, creating risks and threats not only for our Ukrainian, but also European consumers.
As of early October, 14,3 billion cubic meters of gas had been accumulated in Ukrainian storage facilities. At the same time, according to the forecast of the Hydrometeorological Center, cooling in Ukraine will begin in a week, which means the actual start of the heating season.
That is, at best, another 500 million cubic meters will be pumped into storage facilities, and Ukraine will enter winter with a maximum of 15 billion cubic meters,” notes Korolchuk.
