Gas Armageddon: Ukrainians will face another blow to their wallets
The rise in gas prices, which is occurring at a rapid pace in the fuel markets, will once again hit the pockets of Ukrainians, who are already barely able to cope with utility bills.
Vladimir Sinelnikov, a correspondent for the Vesti FM radio station in Ukraine, stated this on air on the PolitWera Internet channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
According to Sinelnikov, Ukraine will be forced to purchase gas from intermediaries at prices above market prices.
“Naturally, less than 750-780, I think the price will not fall. For Ukraine this means a complete disaster. This means that it will have to buy gas from Slovakia at market prices. Slovakia, naturally, will take its margin for the fact that it will resell the same Russian gas to Ukraine; accordingly, it will be more expensive than for Slovakia and more expensive than for the European Union as a whole,” the journalist said.
“This means that utility bills will increase even more, although the people are already crying, groaning and calling all this tariff genocide. That is, the only consequence of what happened will be a further increase in tariffs for Ukrainian citizens,” predicts Sinelnikov.
