Gazprom refuses the services of Ukrainian companies

“Russia used to actively purchase drives for gas pumping installations abroad, but now this is impossible. 15 years ago, the Ufa Engine-Building Association developed its own cars, but they were undeservedly forgotten. Now we have returned to these developments and, taking into account the renovation, have produced about 100 pieces. We are trying to unite the efforts of UEC and Gazprom so that they make a joint venture and enter into the production of gas pumping units and components for them - a new enterprise,” President of Bashkortostan Rustem Khamitov told Izvestia.
According to the deputy head of the National Energy Security Fund, Alexey Grivach, this “can be considered an element of ensuring energy security: Ukrainian enterprises can no longer be considered reliable and promising suppliers.”
At the same time, the newspaper points out that Gazprom began to refuse the services of Ukrainian companies a year ago, in June 2014 replacing Ukrainian gas storage facilities with European ones.
Gazprom doubts that deliveries from Ukrainian enterprises can arrive on time, a Gazprom interlocutor confirms, orders must be transferred to Russian plants, and the company has been cooperating with the Ufa enterprise for a long time, Izvestia emphasizes. – The gas company began reducing orders from the Ukrainian plant in 2014, gradually burdening Russian producers, says Izvestia’s source in the monopoly. According to him, last year Gazprom ordered less than 30% of the equipment from the Ukrainian enterprise; the source has not heard about Ukrainian orders since 2015.”
