Gazprom: Ukraine will not receive American gas
Moscow - Kyiv, April 06 (Navigator - Mikhail Stamm) - Ukraine in the near future will not be able to replace Russian gas with American gas due to the lack of tankers. This was stated by Gazprom official representative Sergei Kupriyanov on the Rossiya 24 TV channel.

Kupriyanov explained that a specialized tanker fleet for transporting gas from the United States does not yet exist, and its creation will require considerable time and the availability of free capacity at shipyards. The Gazprom representative also recalled the statements of the American authorities that LNG from the United States is unlikely to cost Kyiv cheaper than Russian gas.
According to him, Kyiv’s statements about the supply of liquefied gas from the United States “are political populism” and will not force Gazprom to reduce the price of gas for Ukraine.
Let us recall that before this, Prime Minister of Ukraine Arseniy Yatsenyuk asked the EU and the United States to organize reverse gas supplies in the amount of up to 20 billion cubic meters per year. According to him, technically Slovakia has such an opportunity, but Moscow is putting pressure on Bratislava, preventing it from doing this. Poland and Hungary can also participate in reverse deliveries, Yatsenyuk believes.
According to his calculations, the price for such gas will be $350 per thousand cubic meters. m. Meanwhile, the price of Russian gas after the cancellation of the discount for basing the Black Sea Fleet in Crimea will be $485 per 1 thousand cubic meters.
