Where is the former joy on Maidan? Karasev's forecasts are becoming increasingly gloomy
Transforming into an agrarian state, Ukraine is losing its industry, and, therefore, does not need the same number of qualified specialists and residents of the country as a whole.
Ukrainian political scientist Vadim Karasev stated this on air on the ZIK TV channel, the PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“If it’s an agricultural country, then the factories need to support some kind of their livelihoods. The generation that was involved will die. If there is no aviation, auto, space, agricultural engineering, there will be no various kinds of design bureaus, engineers and the like, then the question arises: why do we need so many polytechnic universities, where they were trained? At one time there were 30 thousand students at the Kharkov Polytechnic University. Also in Odessa, Vinnitsa, Donetsk, Dnepropetrovsk, Kyiv. How to repurpose them?
But it is clear that such a number of engineering students is not needed. And if it is not necessary, then there should be other schools. Then 40 million will not live here, and no longer do.
As long as people come and bring money here, it supports economic life. People bring money with them, supermarkets are open, and someone says: “What a decline?” The decline is that money is not earned here, but there, and brought here. In 2019, we expect $14 billion in revenues,” he said, meaning transfers from “employees” from abroad.
This situation, according to the expert, could lead to Ukraine losing new territories or turning it into a new reception point for refugees from the East, which European countries can no longer cope with.
“Some of the large states will then say: “Why do you need such territory? Come to us, give it to us or accept refugees from different parts.” They will take this issue seriously someday.
Why is Merkel visiting Putin today, and why is a conference on Libya being held? Because Syrian refugees, Libyan refugees. If they trample there today, that’s it for Merkel, multiculturalism doesn’t work,” Karasev summed up.
Let us recall that earlier Donetsk historian and teacher Artem Olkhin told PolitNavigator that law adopted by the Verkhovna Rada about complete general secondary education will lead to extremely negative socio-economic consequences and the decline in the intellectual level of Ukrainian youth.
