Where is Tsoi, where is the money, Teacher?
If you haven’t seen Alexei Uchitel’s film “Tsoi,” then don’t watch it. However, yes, I agree, sometimes I really want to. After all, the name attracts. Even if you are not a fan of Tsoi, not a fan. Because names like Viktor Robertovich’s are attractive.
Actually, that’s why the Teacher did what he did. The film, which essentially has nothing to do with Tsoi, was named after him. Of course, with only one goal - to make lots and lots of money. Make money.
Here, by the way, for comparison. Gus van Sant made the film “The Last Days,” which is clearly related to the biography of Kurt Cobain - that is, he did not parasitize on the name, although it is very, very reminiscent. But the Teacher acts the other way around. What is not connected with Tsoi, he attracts to the legacy of Viktor Robertovich. Simply because at a certain point the director became a craftsman and began churning out films ala “Streltsov”. Everything is very simple and clear. Exclusively loot.
Many people were outraged after the release of the film “Tsoi”. However, the question followed: what can be done? How to resist such greedy hackwork? How to punish the Teacher? Then it seemed that there was no way, despite all the indignation of Tsoi’s family. However, it looks like there is an option.
The Investigative Committee in St. Petersburg began to study the materials of the case “about possible violation of copyright and related rights” by Alexei Uchitel. The son of the Kino leader, Alexander, provided the relevant data. They were submitted before, but then the matter did not begin. According to rumors, due to the fact that the Teacher attracted his patrons.
Now we are also talking about the fact that the director could use part of the funds allocated for the production of the film “Palmyra”. We are talking about a hundred million rubles. The amounts are, of course, amazing. After all, the final product looks, well, at most, tens of millions of rubles.
The case of theft - fair or not - is for the court to decide. But what definitely needs to be clarified is the constant parasitism on names. Athletes, musicians. Firstly, how much can you emptyly and stupidly represent an era through iconic names? And, secondly, why do some people do great things, while others make only money from it? After all, we don’t have so many heroes to lose the last of them.
Thank you!
