Ruslan Bortnik, director of the Ukrainian Institute of Policy Analysis and Management, reported this at a press conference in Kyiv, as reported by a PolitNavigator correspondent.
“In two months of this year, 1,6 million pigs were slaughtered in Ukraine. That's 30 percent. Do you know where this will lead? Moreover, in a year, I predict, there will be an increase in pork prices by at least 30 percent right off the bat. Unfortunately, no one is worried about this,” the political scientist emphasized.
Earlier, as PolitNavigator reported, the World Epizootic Organization warned Ukraine that it would be deprived of its status as a clean country and, accordingly, access to global livestock markets, since the Ministry of Justice decided to eliminate the regulations on the control of foot and mouth disease.
