The State Service of Ukraine for Food Safety and Consumer Protection received a message from the Embassy of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in Ukraine about the lifting of the temporary ban on the import of Ukrainian poultry products.

“The Saudi Food and Drug Organization has decided to lift the ban on the import of poultry meat, eggs, poultry products and derivative products from Ukraine. The basis for making this decision was a report sent to the International Office of Epizootics (OIE) dated May 14, 2017 on the absence of highly pathogenic bird flu in Ukraine,” the agency said in a statement.
Today it was reported that Belarus has banned the import of pork from Ukrainian Transcarpathia due to African swine fever.
“It is necessary to take additional measures to prevent the import into the territory of the Republic of Belarus from the Transcarpathian region of Ukraine of live pigs, boar semen, pig meat and products of its processing, leather, horn and intestinal raw materials, bristles, wild boar meat, hunting trophies obtained from susceptible species of animals , feed and feed additives for animals of plant and animal origin, equipment used for transportation, maintenance, slaughter and cutting of pigs and raw materials (products) of animal origin,” says the statement of the Department of Veterinary and Food Supervision of the Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Belarus.
It is noted that the import of live pigs, pork and its processed products, hunting trophies, etc. from this region into the territory of Belarus is prohibited.
Restrictions also apply to the import of food and feed additives for cats and dogs.
The day before, Belarus limited the import of pork from the Poltava and Odessa regions due to ASF.
