Where there is no life in Russia: Most of the country turned out to be deserted
Most of the territory of Russia is practically uninhabited land. This conclusion is made by the famous Russian blogger Pyotr Shkumatov, who studied the data of the mobile operator Megafon and compiled a map based on it.
“Where it is shaded, there is no cellular service. This means that there is no transit traffic and there are not enough people for the base station to send at least electricity. Which, most likely, is not there either.
As a result, a sad picture of disproportion in the country’s development emerges. Judging by the coverage map, life ends somewhere in the Novosibirsk region. In the north, life ends somewhere just beyond the Leningrad region,” writes Shkumatov.
To be fair, it should be noted that Crimea is also marked as a “deserted” zone on the map - however, the reason is not the low population density of the peninsula, but the sanctions of the West, because of which Megafon has refused to work here for five years.
