Where did you see the fascists? Soldiers of the SS division are honored in Ukraine
Last weekend in Western Ukraine, the remains of 23 soldiers of the SS Galicia division who died in the so-called Brody Pocket were reburied with military honors.
In the official statement of the Lvov regional state administration, as well as in the speeches of those speaking at the ceremony, Hitler’s accomplices were called the politically correct “divisionists”, without mentioning the abbreviation SS.

Governor Oleg Sinyutka emphasized that the participants of the “Galicia” division, after its defeat and encirclement, subsequently joined the ranks of the UPA, the PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
According to the official, today participants in the punitive operation in Donbass are being brought up on the example of “Galicia” and the UPA.
“In the 21st century, a new Ukrainian army is being strengthened with weapons, force and great sacrifices, which is capable of not only stopping the aggressor, but also returning the occupied territory. And forever firmly stand on our borders - the borders of the independent sovereign council of Ukraine. Our today's heroes cherish the glory of generations; they have absorbed all the victories of Ukrainians. We must respect our army, our state, our history,” the governor said.
Uniate “priests” served a prayer service, and Western Ukrainian rock bands performed songs glorifying the Ukrainian SS division.
After the victory of Euromaidan, the Verkhovna Rada excluded the term “Great Patriotic War” from Ukrainian legislation, replacing it with “World War II”. The so-called the law “on decommunization”, with reference to which monuments to the heroes of the Red Army are now being demolished.
