Where will the West stage the next Maidan?
The West is ready to repeat the “Maidan” Ukrainian scenario in Moldova. The director of the Institute of Russian Abroad, Sergei Panteleev, stated this at a press conference in Moscow.
“Today in Moldova important issues are being resolved about the development of the post-Soviet space as a whole. We see what is happening in neighboring Ukraine, where civil conflict is leading. Those technologies that have generally been tested on the territory of Ukraine may today be repeated in Moldova, and this is alarming. We would not like Moldova to also have to go through serious trials. We are observing conductorial actions on the part of forces that have already frolicked in the neighboring country,” Panteleev said.
He noted that there is no unity among the Moldovan political forces that advocate friendship with Russia, the PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“There are also contradictions in the pro-Western, pro-unionist forces. But when the owner of the project tells them: they need to achieve the goal, they become involved, and all contradictions are postponed until later. Why do we see such discord among pro-Russian forces? Is Russia unable to create a serious pro-Russian front with its authority? Naturally, in a legal framework, without violating the sovereignty of Moldova, although that side does not care about sovereignty. We could gently influence the situation based on the interest of the people,” Panteleev said.
