ATO General explained why Ukraine did not follow the Croatian scenario
The geographic proximity of Donbass to Russia makes any attempt by Ukraine to seize the LDPR according to the Croatian scenario senseless.
The former head of the ATO headquarters, Major General Viktor Nazarov, stated this on Channel 4 TV channel, PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“They give examples of what Croatia should have done against Serbia when, as you remember, they had a war. One thing needs to be understood: beyond Serbia and Yugoslavia there was no Russian Federation, which was located right next to it. Yes, perhaps they supported her as best they could, helped, but they were not physically behind her. And behind Croatia there was NATO - powerful armed forces.
Therefore, in the situation in Donbass, the path of a frontal offensive was very risky. In terms of what? In terms of very high losses and in terms of the fact that our equipment was not prepared to conduct combat operations in an urbanized area, which is actually very urbanized there.
And, given that the military-economic potential is much greater than that of Ukraine, they could make supplies across the border almost unlimitedly. There would simply be a war to destroy combat potential, which would definitely not be in our favor,” Nazarov said.
