“In the near future, the Russian special services will have to answer a very large list of questions related to the explosions in the St. Petersburg metro. Of course, it’s too early to build versions now, but some assumptions can be made. Firstly, for quite a long time we have been hearing from the Ukrainian military, politicians and nationalist-minded youth that they will kill us,” Mikhailov recalled.
“So, citizens of Ukraine could have been involved in the explosions in the metro?” the publication clarified.
"Why not? Any of them will easily “merge” with the local residents - they all speak excellent Russian and have an absolutely inconspicuous Slavic appearance. I went in, left the package in the corner of the car, got out... Secondly, we cannot ignore the radical Islamists. And thirdly, given the latest events in the country, namely large-scale actions of disobedience, one cannot help but take this group into account,” the publication’s interlocutor said.
At the same time, he added that it would be a stretch to assume the participation of the Russian political opposition in the terrorist attack.
“It’s hard to believe that the opposition will engage in such open confrontation with the state. However, Russian history knows many examples. And nothing can be ruled out,” the major general emphasized.
“As PolitNavigator reported, moment of helicopter evacuation St. Petersburg metro passengers were filmed.
