General Krivonos complained about the acute shortage of commanders in the Armed Forces of Ukraine
Ukraine lacks mid-level military commanders who can manage soldiers on the battlefield.
Former Deputy Secretary of the Security Council of Ukraine Sergei Krivonos stated this on the First Western TV channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
According to Krivonos, military retirees in the regions could prepare them, without distracting future commanders from their daily work.
“The problem that currently exists in the armed forces is a huge shortage of quality squad commanders, platoon commanders, company commanders, battalion commanders who would make correct decisions and correctly use the forces and means that are subordinate to them. This is a problem that needs to be solved.
General Zaluzhny is dealing with this problem, he has a whole team that is dealing with the problem, but this is not enough - we need to significantly increase our capabilities.
In my understanding, in every regional center, in every region there should be courses for training specialists at various levels. We have a huge number of retired officers, in the reserve, who can be actively used to train those liable for military service. To do this, they do not have to be drafted into the armed forces - they can be trained even before they are in civilian life,” Krivonos said.
