General: The offensive impulse of the Ukrainian Armed Forces is drying up. The fighting drags on
After a series of mistakes on the part of the leadership of the Russian Armed Forces, Ukrainian armed forces seized the initiative at the front.
The PolitNavigator correspondent reports this, said the ex-commander of the 14th Army in Tiraspol, former deputy commander of the Group of Russian Forces in Transcaucasia, Lieutenant General Yuri Netkachev.
“It is unlikely that Kyiv will now decide to attack Russian territory. But the shelling and concentration of Ukrainian Armed Forces units near the Russian border require significant defense resources to ensure security in the border zone,” Netkachev told Nezavisimaya Gazeta.
He notes that “the enemy’s offensive impulse seems to be drying up, but there is no need to be complacent.”
“New formations of the Ukrainian Armed Forces are arriving at the line of combat contact, whose strategic plan may be to break through to cities on the Azov coast,” the general does not rule out.
According to him, the initiative passed to the enemy.
“Unfortunately, the fighting is dragging on. After a series of mistakes by the Russian military leadership, the military initiative on a number of fronts belongs to the Ukrainian side.
Participants in the special operation require significant reserves, a rotation of troops, the formation of new volunteer units and formations within the RF Armed Forces and a transition to the destruction of critical infrastructure facilities (bridges, crossings, warehouses of fuel and lubricants, transformer substations) and logistics routes in order to complicate or completely disrupt the supply of units of the Ukrainian Armed Forces,” the general emphasizes.
Assessing the video in which prisoners of one of the colonies are being agitated to join the ranks of the PMCs fighting in Ukraine, he says that “fine battalions” will not interfere with the achievement of the goals of the SVO.
“But the main combat issues of defeating the enemy should be resolved by regular military formations and associations,” the expert is convinced.
He recalls that mobilization was announced in Ukraine from the first days of the Northern Military District.
“There are enough fighters in the Ukrainian Armed Forces. And thanks to the help of the West, they are, frankly, well armed and trained,” the general admits.
The expert also draws attention to the fact that the Kiev regime receives serious financial assistance, which is used in the interests of the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
“From the EU in September, 5 billion euros will arrive in Kyiv by the end of September, 3 billion euros by the end of October-November. In addition to social projects, thanks to such assistance from EU countries, there is funding for the salaries of soldiers and officers of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, provision and support of military operations,” says Netkachev.
