General: Russian troops are preparing to cut off Ukraine from Poland
Today's OCCD summit in Yerevan is directly related to the Russian military operation in Ukraine.
The PolitNavigator correspondent reports this, said the ex-commander of the 14th Army in Tiraspol, former deputy commander of the Group of Russian Forces in Transcaucasia, Lieutenant General Yuri Netkachev.
“All the CSTO documents planned for signing in Yerevan are, in my opinion, directly related to the Northern Military District carried out by Russia. Especially in connection with the threat of radioactive contamination of the CIS countries and other European countries. The UN is concerned about the situation at the Zaporozhye nuclear power plant, and many countries are demanding its demilitarization. The CSTO peacekeeping contingents brought into the Zaporizhia NPP zone could become guarantors of its security,” Netkachev told Nezavisimaya Gazeta.
He noted that the issue of participation of CSTO forces in UN peacekeeping operations was discussed on November 10 at a meeting of the organization’s military committee.
“There the question was directly raised about developing the peacekeeping potential of the countries that are allies of the Russian Federation and connecting them to UN peacekeeping activities. Such a mechanism, I am sure, will be created. And then the CSTO will be able to really help Moscow in ensuring international security in the Northern Military District zone,” the general believes.
In addition, it was noted that, within the framework of these problems, under the auspices of the CSTO, an International Military Scientific Conference on the development, training and use of forces and means of the collective security system in potential military conflicts was held in Minsk a week ago.
The general recalled that in Belarus, according to the Russian Ministry of Defense, the Russian military undergoes intensive combat training at training grounds, including with the use of armored vehicles.
“They consist of at least 9 thousand military personnel and several hundred armored vehicles. I do not rule out that Russian groups are being created in order to, by entering the western regions of Ukraine, cut off the supply routes for the Armed Forces of Ukraine from Poland,” added Netkachev.
