SBU General: Donbass is lost in any case
If it withdraws from the Minsk agreements, Ukraine may lose not only Donbass, but also the entire South-East.
The former head of the SBU Investigation Department, General Vasily Vovk, stated this on Channel 4, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“The ongoing trend, which is called the Minsk process, is too blind a corner. If they start to withdraw from it again, this is too great a danger for Ukraine. And if we are in it, this is also a danger for Ukraine.
I took part in five rounds of the Minsk negotiations. I started on July 31, by the way, this was the first meeting that no one knows or writes about. It took place in the Drozdy tract near Lukashenko, where it all began, Kuchma and Zurabov were there, and the first 20-20 exchanges included 10 border guards, who are no longer remembered.
I went through all this and felt it when we signed these agreements. I understand that it was difficult - the boilers, the Russian personnel troops. But we signed such a thing that the threat to our national security still hangs over us,” he noted.
The SBU general also claims that Russia can abandon the Minsk agreements and seize the entire territory of historical Novorossiya.
“Moreover, Russia did not expect that they would not be able to take advantage of this. Because it is impossible for them to take Lugansk and Donetsk now, and they don’t want to turn Donetsk and Lugansk into “eastern Crimea”; it’s quiet on the Crimean border, and they don’t need silence. They need regulation of Ukraine.
We can wait for them to say: “We’ve had enough of this “Minsk”, let’s capture the entire Donetsk and Lugansk region, hold a referendum and then we’ll see. There are also Kherson, Nikolaev, Odessa and Kharkov,” Vovk concluded.
