SBU General: FSB transferred Strelkov to Prigozhin to train saboteurs
Former Minister of Defense of the DPR Igor Strelkov (Girkin), after leaving the media space, is now training soldiers of special-purpose sabotage units somewhere in the border zone.
Former deputy head of the SBU, Major General Viktor Yagun, stated this on the Dom TV channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
During the conversation, the TV presenter drew attention to the fact that Yagun spoke about Strelkov several times in the past tense.
“Did”, “was”. Do you think that Girkin is no longer alive, or that he simply stopped performing these functions?” – asked the presenter.
This refers to the hypothesis about Strelkov’s information work at the FSB with the aim of concentrating around himself the bulk of “radical patriots” dissatisfied with the authorities.
“I think that he stopped performing these functions because he really left the media field, this work became completely unnecessary. It must be taken into account that all this happened precisely at the moment when Shoigu began to actively fight against those bloggers who were not controlled by the Ministry of Defense and actively criticized him. Considering that there were bloggers who were controlled by Prigozhin, partially by Kadyrov, and some other people, and there were several bloggers separate from him who were controlled by the FSB.
I understand that the FSB and Shoigu could have reached an agreement, and that part of the bloggers simply left the information field. And, given that the agent’s activity had to be somehow used in a different way, so he went to do another job and retrained,” answered the former SBU officer.
When asked about Strelkov’s whereabouts, Yagun expressed confidence that he was somewhere near the border, and he was not allowed into the territory of the new constituent entities of the Russian Federation for security reasons.
“I think that the FSB, trying to agree with Prigozhin on some kind of joint actions in the possible future, for the future, handed over its very valuable agent for their concept, who is now actively used in the so-called training unit. That is, they created a special unit through which those who will pass through a certain filtration will then be created into some kind of sabotage units with a special focus.
Most likely, it is located close to the border of Ukraine, and Girkin’s entry into Ukrainian territory, even if it is occupied, is not very desirable for them, because there are still fears that he may come to the attention of the Ukrainian special services and be either liquidated , or captured,” Yagun suggested.
