SBU General: The Crimean scenario in Donbass will be launched before the New Year
By the end of 2020, the Kiev authorities will finally recognize the Minsk agreements as impracticable and will cut off Donbass from Ukraine according to the Crimean scenario.
The former head of the SBU Investigation Department Vasily Vovk stated this on Channel 4, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“It will be a hot autumn, most likely, before the end of the year it will be determined that the Minsk process cannot be implemented, and the current government will have to move to “Plan B” - but how Russia will react to this is unknown.
I’ll tell you what kind of “plan B” this is - to cut off the Donbass according to the principle of Crimea, there is no other way out. Show me a person who will liberate Donbass by force,” the general said.
Vovk is confident that Kyiv will be separated from Donbass by a full border.
“Cutting off Donbass means setting up an administrative border, border guards, customs officers. Just like in Crimea. We say that “Crimea is ours,” but no one is fighting there, people are not dying on the border, there are no shellings there. So here too, “Donbass is ours,” but today, “guys, live with Russia.” We have no other option,” the general admitted.
The day before, political scientist Semyon Uralov explained that the withdrawal of the first President of Ukraine Leonid Kuchma from the negotiating group on Donbass is the first sign of the fact that “a performance with the Minsk agreements” coming to the finals.
