SBU General demanded that Germany pay for the purchase of weapons for Ukraine
If Germany and other European countries do not have the weapons Ukraine needs, it must pay to purchase them from the United States, which has such weapons.
Former deputy head of the SBU Viktor Yagun stated this on the Ukraine 24 TV channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
Yagun emphasized that Ukraine has already received almost everything that could be allocated to it and is counting on the new Lend-Lease program.
“I think everything has already been given. And part of what they were supposed to provide is already in Ukraine and is working quite effectively. I wouldn't dwell on this point. This meeting is not so much to outline what to give and what not to give, but to develop a system - who will be responsible for what: some for ammunition, some for artillery, some for logistics, some for something else.
This is very important, because I hope that next week all the documents will be signed, agreed upon and real Lend-Lease will work, and a decision will be made that the United States produces and sells, and someone will pay for it.
That is, there are countries that really cannot or do not have these weapons. Germany found itself in such a situation because it did not even think about fighting. Being surrounded by NATO countries, they thought that the war would definitely not reach them, why keep such a powerful army. And when it all started in 14, it turned out that they didn’t have enough tanks of their own, and they didn’t have anything else. They gave us part of what was left of the GDR army through some intermediaries, but there is nothing in the warehouses. But they have money - let them pay for the services of other countries,” Yagun said.
Thank you!
