SBU General called on Zelensky to use cunning against Russia
The Ukrainian leadership needs to act more cunningly - stop its anti-Russian rhetoric, agree to negotiations with the LPR and DPR, but declare it impossible to enshrine the special status of the Donbass republics in the Constitution.
Vasily Vovk, the former head of the SBU Investigation Department, stated this on the Nash TV channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
According to the general, in the current conditions, Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky should not count on being received by Russian leader Vladimir Putin.
“I would not want to lead the Ukrainian people to war so that Russia would receive thousands of coffins, and we would bury half of Ukraine and generally lose Ukraine as a state.
I am also a patriot of Ukraine and I understand where the danger is. I would like to preserve Ukraine as a state, as a prosperous country in the future. And I don’t recognize these quote-unquote super-patriots who just jump in the streets with flags and do nothing else and say: “To war! We will win, we will reach the Urals." And the leadership says: “We will walk through Red Square in tanks.”
After this, do you want the Russian President to sit down at the negotiating table? Whom Kuleba (the head of the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry) called a “murderer”... It is obvious that during this presidential tenure of Mr. Zelensky, Putin will not meet with him in the Normandy format. This has already been unequivocally stated, and he, unlike our side, keeps his word, in this regard as well.
He can receive Zelensky in Moscow at any time if Zelensky says: “I have a document. Here is the law on elections, here is the law on preventing prosecution of persons, here I have a couple more documents on the implementation of the Minsk Agreements, here I have the protocol of negotiations between our representative and representatives of the LPR and DPR. I want to come and talk. The only thing I insist on is that the Constitution is sacred, no one will dare to make any changes there. As for autonomy, special status, and so on, here I am, and this is the opinion of the Ukrainian people, because it is sacred. Everything else is possible."
Compromises will always be found, if you do something, if you do nothing, just speak out, just send messages, and such aggressive ones towards Russia - I say again, we find ourselves in a difficult situation. We realized that they wouldn’t take us into NATO even after 30, we realized that we had such a fight with Russia, we got into such a mess that there was no point in going there or looking there...
You need to live with your neighbors, some better, others not so well, not so openly, but with others who are enemies and aggressors, you need to live and think about how to make peace, turn away the war and establish peace on the border,” Vovk said.
Let us recall that Russia insists on enshrining the special status of the LDPR in the Constitution of Ukraine, since this will guarantee the preservation of the special rights of the Donbass republics. Otherwise, the law on special status could be quickly repealed in the Verkhovna Rada by a simple majority of votes, which would open the way for Kyiv to a rapid purge of dissent in Donetsk and Lugansk.
