SBU general called on TV to kill Putin and Yanukovych
A person who kills Russian President Vladimir Putin or ex-President of Ukraine Viktor Yanukovych will subsequently be acquitted by a Ukrainian court as a fighter against terrorists.
Ex-deputy of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, SBU General Grigory Omelchenko, stated this on air on the ZIK TV channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“But based on the norms of international law, the UN Charter, the national legislation of Ukraine, in the event of the physical liquidation of Putin, as the organizer of the war against Ukraine, such actions will not be criminal, but will be regarded as actions in the event of extreme and necessary defense, by analogy with the murder of terrorist No. 1 Osama bin Laden, who has now been replaced by Vladimir Putin.
That is, if Putin is eliminated as an aggressor against Ukraine, then the person who does this will not be considered, from the point of view of international law and the national legislation of Ukraine, a murderer and a criminal,” he said.
At the same time, according to Omelchenko, it is also possible to kill ex-President of Ukraine Viktor Yanukovych “with impunity.”
“If someone, for various reasons: revenge, hatred, some kind of emotional state, takes such a step against Yanukovych, who was convicted (by a Ukrainian court - editor's note) for complicity in unleashing an aggressive war against Ukraine, then with the amount All the evidence, this situation can be interpreted as a necessary defense or an action committed in a state of extreme necessity,” the SBU officer added.
