The SBU general believes that his colleagues shot Maidan protesters
The SBU may include people involved in the murders on Maidan in 2014, which explains the delay in the investigation of this case.
Ex-head of the SBU Igor Smeshko spoke about this on the Apostrophe TV channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“If the SBU is fulfilling its mission, then it does not exist on Mars, it is inside Ukraine. And now we see a crazy decline in the trust of the people and the prestige of the SBU, which was once the standard. Do you remember 2004, when the entire Maidan chanted “The SBU is with the people!”? Do you remember how after this the cadets of the Academy of Internal Affairs came in a column to the Maidan? During the first Maidan, the SBU showed the highest level of people's trust in it.
How do you think our Western partners look at us when we have not investigated this crime for so many years? In addition, this means that in the special services, in law enforcement agencies, and in political power there are people who may be related to what happened, to the tragedy that occurred,” Smeshko said.
