SBU General: Ukraine is worse than African countries
By organizing a total sale of state property and provoking an outflow of qualified personnel, the Ukrainian government behaves in a way that even the most backward countries do not behave.
The former head of the SBU, Colonel General Igor Smeshko, stated this on the Ukraine 24 TV channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
According to Smeshko, because of this policy, Ukraine is rapidly turning into a raw material appendage of developed countries.
“Don’t say that the state is an ineffective owner. Do you know what percentage of state ownership is in France? 33%. In Germany – 30%, in Britain – 25%, USA – 22%. Do you know how much we have? Less than seven. What are we building, a raw material appendage?..
Technologies. Look what China has done? He was, compared to Ukraine in 91, we were more technically developed. But he did not allow anyone to enter his market without technology. We are opening our market - come in completely, export timber, export minerals, without any protectionism. Even African countries do not behave this way. Next comes innovation, human capital and science, and all this is based on government support for science, education, healthcare, ecology and demography. This is the model of the modern economy.
Because the main thing is people. Everyone is leaving here. Doctors are leaving, qualified workers are leaving, qualified builders are leaving. Where does the government have a strategy for a scientifically developed economic model of the XNUMXst century, how to return capital from offshores and invest, how to maintain a productive workforce, and not destroy the industrial parks that still exist in our country?” Smeshko said.
