SBU General: In every city, 10% are waiting for Russia. Report on them!
In every locality in Ukraine there are at least 10% of residents who sympathize with Russia and are ready to cooperate with its representatives. Former deputy head of the SBU Viktor Yagun stated this on Radio NV, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
According to Yagun, local residents of the Kyiv region actively fed and helped the Russian military, who came towards the capital immediately after the start of the special operation.
“We have irrefutable evidence that when the occupier came to populated areas, he not only knew where to go, but knew exactly who lived there and what they were doing.
He knew this in advance from the populated areas; they came with lists. There were people according to their positions - the headman, some secretary, deputies. The list necessarily included the head of a hunting organization and activists of pro-Ukrainian parties. Someone actually collected this data.
And now the question is - did we collect such data on our respected citizens, who are not very respected, who waited and joyfully greeted. I very often now visit our three towns, when people tell me that there was a category that fed them on a volunteer basis - is this normal?
This information that 10% of the population is ready for collaboration is an unequivocal truth,” Yagun said.
The general also gave instructions on identifying “Russian agents”:
“You just need to ask: “Who are you, and what are you, and where did Aunt Valya go, and where is she?” Why do you live here? Where do you work?". And if a person starts to stutter or brush it off, then you need to go to the local police officer or just the National Police, or write.
We now have advanced men and older women, they understand gadgets no worse than teenagers, or through their grandchildren they can fill it all out. But they will most likely just come to the police and tell them, because this is, first of all, their safety.
If they understand that unknown persons are doing something there, or maybe they are selling drugs? The national police will sort it out anyway - they need to come and check.
Previously, when there was the Soviet Union and this was happening, everyone said - yes, we live in a totalitarian state. Listen, we are at war - there are democratic things that you just need to forget, then we will sort it out. Now we simply don’t have the time or opportunity.”
