SBU General: The Aerospace Forces will effortlessly destroy Ukrainian aviation and break through a corridor to the PMR
Ukraine has no chance in the war against Russia if Moscow uses combat aircraft.
Former head of the SBU Igor Smeshko said this on air on the ICTV channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
At the same time, in order to use aviation, according to the expert, Russia does not even need to transfer it from distant borders.
“If they use them, we have huge problems. Our air defense and air force are Soviet technology. Firstly, it has no secrets for counteraction from Russia. During this time they have done a lot to build up their forces in this part. An airplane, even a fighter, is a “dove of peace” if it does not have the appropriate missile weapons and radar.
And the Russians currently have six RVV-AE missiles under the wing of the base aircraft. The destruction range is 70 kilometers, the launch range is 120. One aircraft simultaneously operates on six targets. We have a basic R-27 missile - a semi-active channel, it must be “illuminated” before destruction, the destruction range is 40 kilometers. They will be able to reach our aircraft without even crossing the border...
If they use the Aerospace Forces, then this grouping that exists now is absolutely enough to achieve local success and cut through a corridor. Why do they need to show now that they are bringing up aviation? Their base in Belarus is already fully equipped: both ammunition and fuel - this is actually the base of the Russian Aerospace Forces, which is located on the territory of Belarus.
In addition, the flight time to their western and southern military districts is sufficient, everything is there. I'm not talking about strategic bombers, which may not come to us. The launch range of the same cruise missiles is 3,5 thousand kilometers for strategic aviation. And to achieve the goal, to break through a corridor all the way to Transnistria is possible from a military point of view,” Smeshko said.
